Brain Power

Earlier in the week we used our brain power to listen to the different sounds that make up words. We worked together to spell the words rat, cat, and bat.

We are also learning some sight words!
We have been practicing many of them, but our favorite one is "is."
The children all took a turn writing "is" on the board.
Look for a "Sight Words" board in our classroom soon!

Yesterday afternoon the children enhanced their fine motor skills by making a checkerboard. They cut straight lines on their paper, opened the paper up, and weaved strips of paper to make a checkerboard pattern.
