Recap of the Week

We have had a busy week full of learning in K4! Check out what we have been doing!
This week with have been talking about balance, ramps, bridges, and buildings.
Here they made a ramp for cars to race down.
The boys made an airport. They used string for the airplanes to take off.
A bridge during rush hour traffic.

The process of making the bridge.

They created an elevator with some tape and string.

We worked in our journals!
Check out the words I wrote!

 BOAT
 HEART
 DADDY

We worked together to make a map of our classroom! We practiced using the words next to, left, right, behind, and in front to decide where to draw all of the centers in our classroom.

Here is our finished map. See if you can find the carpet, tables, block area, sensory table, and all of the other areas in our classroom.

They also worked together to make a sign that says "K4 CLASSROOM" to hang by our map.

One of our favorite literacy activities this week was retelling the story of The Three Little Pigs. All of the children took turns throughout the week acting out the parts of the mommy pig, the three pigs, and the big bad wolf.

They also created houses for the little pigs. First they had to draw squares and triangles to create the houses. Then they traced the houses with glue and added "straw," "sticks," and "bricks." When they were done they practiced writing "3 LITTLE PIGS."
